| Amar had landed in the city of Mumbai with a sole ambition
to be big in life – to be famous and rich, he is struggling
with this mission but meanwhile working in a nightclub as band
singer. The nightclub is frequented by many call girls, and
one such girl is Shalu.
Shalu is adept at the art of getting from life what destiny
has denied her, practically living out her dreams. This trait
in her fascinates Amar and soon both become good friends.
Gul Bloch is an underworld Don who loves her only daughter
Jamila, a mentally challenged kid. She becomes a great fan
of Amar after seeing him singing on TV. Instructed by Gul,
his men one day kidnap Amar and produce him before Gul. Touched
by the plight of the father in Gul, Amar meets Jamila and
soon gets emotionally attached to her.
One day Amar discovers shalu’s ultimate dream that
of living in her home in a remote hill area with her husband
and daughter, a fantasy that will remain unfulfilled. Having
the house she had dreamt, Amar offers to play the role of
a husband, Jamila their daughter.
They go to the hills and stay there … unwillingly &
unwittingly they fall in love.Back in mumbai Amar finds out
that his long struggle has finally paid off and he has been
signed by a noted producer for three movies. Soon he will
become a star. Shalu meanwhile believing that another of her
dream is over is back to her ‘ normal ‘ life.
Amar offers marriage proposal on the the condition that she
gives up habits. The D Day arrives as Amar is being launched
as hero in a big way he gets a message from that Gul has been
killed. Jamila’s life is in danger and he should leave
Mumbai immediately.
The choice before Amar is simple – Jamila’s life
or fulfillment of his dreams for which he has struggled. And
the choice before Shalu – marital bliss or dying an
ignoble death. What choices they make is what “ Zindagi
Khoobsoorat Hai ” is all about.
